sheece is 95% right. i am not sure about the musteline thingy. i shall check it out. i am almost tempted to award the 5 points to sheece. but i shall do it only when i do the checking.
parasu guessed it right. metronome was what i was looking for. but since sheece was nearly right. I think it's only fair that we give it to Sheece. He gets five points. And by virtue of topping this short series, SHEECE IS HEREBY CROWNED AS THE SIGMA DON FOR LIFE. Applause.
Sigma 26 is a word grid game where you'll have to guess a word given it's sigma score & number of letters.

Rules of the Game
1. I'll give you an alphabet shaped word grid. 2. I will indicate the number of words to be uncovered with black flags. 3. Each of these black flags will carry the Sigma 26 or word scores for the respective words. 4. Now that you know the number of letters & the Sigma 26, you'll have to uncover the words. Make sure the words you uncover fit the word grid & also match the wordscores. 5. The first person to uncover the word grid will make it to the Sigma Hall of Fame. 6. Sigma 26 word grids are of 6 levels of difficulty - Playschool, LKG, UKG, UG, Graduate & Doctorate. A typical Playschool grid is one in which 5 letters are revealed while a Doctorate grid is one where 0 letters are revealed. The added twist in a Doctorate puzzle is the words in the grid have a connecting theme. 7. The shape of the grid is an additional clue. At least one of the words in the grid will start with the same letter as cued by the shape.

Trying to think outside the box. cant make that lateral jump... I think there is too much kryptonite around these days..
Damn I am losing my superpowers...
carter's first name.
these are nicknames of cricketers -
jumbo - kumble
iceman - steve waugh
musteline - gilchrist (though he is not very popularly known by this name i think)
carter's first name is Jimmy, another famous Jimmy is Jimmy Connor's, also called Jimbo.
Jimbo is a nickname...
Jumbo is a nickname...
i had cracked iceman before the clue, so i thot it had something to do with nicknames...

Hmm
Metronome is probably what Anantha has in mind. That's McGrath's nickname.
sheece gr8 work! musteline is very much a dictionary.com listed word..."resembling a weasel" and is indeed an epithet for Gilchrist!
He should get it all - the Sigma Don!
