I am forced to disclose the results as no one is even close to the answer i was looking for. It wasn't as vague as you thought. The connecting theme is old band names of famous bands. Grateful Dead was Warlocks. Deep Purple started off as Roundabout. And Feedback became U2. Srividya got to Feedback. A little knowledge of trivia would have helped her. Too bad. No one got this one.

sure of the 37 anantha? sigh... getting nowhere if it is 37! hope u guys r having better luck!
37 it is.
No one seems to have cracked it still! Gave it a shot again now - nothing doing.
Query to anantha - is at least one of the F words (i.e if there is more than one) a legit OED/ Websters dictionary word?
'F' - quite an appropriate letter. I'm f'ed on this grid.
thank god one of u showed up.. u want to swear &*#2 abt this offline?
all three are legit words. in my opinion this is the most difficult sigma puzzle so far. i would rate the difficulty as 4.5/10. so if ur unable to crack it, i dread to imagine what wud have happened if i had unleashed all my puzzles :-)
hmmm... 4.5/10
shame on us
thank you! By legit words i meant words that have a meaning - i.e no proper nouns - i mean columbia and atlantis do come up on dictionary.com but not necc in all dictionaries cos they are proper nouns.
perfectly simple words. in fact pretty innocuous. it's a simple trylateral puzzle in a sigma 26 form.
offline swearing session? wonder what that one looks like !!
am going to take a dig at this...
the connect doesn't look too strong
feedback
wonderment
newfound
recently there was a poll for wonders of the world based on user feedback - so we had newfound wonders...
no no sheece,, how dare u.. i am almost there..
anantha do we hv half points.. if so i will post
:(
yeah it didn't seem too right
if u crack it, u should get all points...
why not u help me get the 3rd word.. i think (not sure tho) what 2 words are and what the theme is... but am a total dumb blonde as far as this topic is concerned !! we can split points... what say...
sounds like an interesting proposition... i am in :)
add me on gtalk... sheece is my id
ok.. this is what i have..
thunderbox
feedback
so its all related to sound equipment - physics (bleah) - maybe some sound related law ... u a engineer per any chance?
oops didnt see the gtalk thingy.. i will get into gtalk meantime chew on this and let me know if i am at least close
where are u sheece?
i totally scratch myself out of this grid. thunderbox which to me is that amplifier thingy is not listed on dictionary.com.. so i am totally wrong i guess - back to ground 0...to actually underground actually! total waste of time!
hey - it might be a simple TLA - deal is this is a TLA with no clues! If we get the 3 'right' words then yes it may become straight forward. Deal is hundreds of words fit in - but may not make sense together. I have at least 4 different options for each word on the grid...too many P&C !
even in TLA we had at least a who/what - can at least that be provided?
here is my 2 bit
if the words are
feedback
roundabout
thriller
Connect Dr Who
feedback - superhero - Scifi (genre of dr who)
Roundabout - magic rounadbout - Kylie minogue (about to star in it)
Thriller - Parody of thriller is the guinness song and Dr who is cited as the longest running scifi on Guinness
too vague a connect. your words are almost there. i think no one's getting anywhere, i shall post the answers. then you will realise, it's not as twisted as you thought. just that, you guys didn't apply your mind enough.
well sheece also got to feedback! cd not hv cracked it as did not know feedback was old U2 (they should list that under wiki)! Knew Roundabout was DP tho! cursing myself $%##@
i would have never got this...
